About Plasma?

Plasma is a fourth state of matter (Solid, liquid, gas, plasma) and is very important research field because of strong linkage to our life through a variety of plasma application to industries. Plasma Physics has been developed to explain nonlinear phenomena observed in plasmas and how we can control plasmas.

About ΣE Lab:

ΣE Lab is located at National Institute for Fusion Science!
Main Offices and Labs are located in National Institute for Fusion Science: NIFS (Toki city, Gifu prefecture). NIFS is an inter-university research institute working on Nuclear Fusion Science. In ΣE Lab., a variety of experimental devices such as the Large Helical Device (LHD), the neutral beam test stand (NIFS-NBTS), high density plasma experiment (Hyper-I), ElectroHydorodynamic Convection (EHC) is available to attack leading-edge research subjects. Goal of ΣE Lab. is contribution to nuclear fusion science/development, space and astrophysics, nonlinear physics, through deepening the understanding of plasma physics.
